Hi friends! I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado and began practicing yoga in 2016 during my freshman year of college at the University of Wyoming as a tool to help with my mental health. I practiced on and off throughout undergrad and in the years following, and when I moved to Nashville in 2022 and found Shakti, I developed a consistent practice.
Yoga has improved both my mental and physical health in incredible ways, and also helped me create a healthy relationship with my body for the first time in my life. At Shakti, I fell in love with the welcoming and empowering community and how it made Nashville feel like home. I joined the front desk team as a way to get more involved and a year and a half later, I took the leap to go through training to become a teacher. In the spring of 2024, I graduated from ShaktiU and taught my first class at Shakti a week later! In addition to teaching and working the desk, I also help out with the studio’s social media and marketing.
As a teacher, I am dedicated to helping others feel welcomed, seen, and encouraged. My classes aim to leave you feeling strong, capable, and in tune with your body, instilling the belief that you are enough, exactly as you are. I regularly teach power flows, but also find so much joy in meditative practices and restorative yoga. I have recently begun diving into the world of sound healing, and love to offer the occasional sound bath in savasana in my classes!
I feel like my journey with teaching yoga is best summed up by this quote: “I wanted to do something that was filled with light for us all and it turns out the easiest way to start is just saying I love you and I’m glad you’re here.”
